Our Choice to be Child Free

The husband and I have decided that we would like to be child free indefinitely. We are loving having a dog and going to the dog park. We enjoy all of the quiet just being in the same room doing separate things time, and drinking a glass of wine while watching family guy and sitting around naked. We like sleeping... A lot! We also like having sex whenever we want and not having to worry about psychologically harming anyone when we want to be loud. We can go away for the weekend whenever we want and curse when we want and stay out as late as we want. I know it sounds selfish but it is what it is. I have felt so much relief after decided to stay child free. I have enjoyed life so much more. I'm honestly happier. Husband is going back to school to finish his AA in May, he should hopefully be done in about a year. At that point we will decide on a University for him and either move or look into a more permanent living situation. We have decided to stop looking into buying a house for at least two years to give us time to decide where we want to be and for him to get closer to being done with school. Renting sucks and it feels like wasting money but it's what is right for us right now. Maybe having not been to work in a week I'm more chipper than I will be tomorrow but I'm happy. For the first time in a while I'm just happy. I'm going to try staying happy, thinking of all the good things in life. I may not have everything I want, but I have more than I need. I have more than most people in the world, there is no reason why I should let anything make me feel sad.

Tomorrow starts my work week, I am going to try to be patient with the people I work with and the customers we have, and just look forward to lunch with Miranda and then bible study and Wednesday night dinner with Amber. Maybe even plan an April Fool's Day prank or two... lol.

I have also decided to start volunteering at least one day a week and I think I am going to join a school PTA. I started following a blog about how gross school lunches are in this country and after reading four posts I was nauseated. I may not want kids of my own but that doesn't mean I don't care. I am also thinking about looking into running for a school board position. I'll keep you updated on that front.
