Frozen Bananas for Arrested Development Day

Guess what friends? Not only is Arrested Development back, I am participating in the Pintester movement! Make sure to check out all of the other bloggers trying out new stuff from Pinterest.

Of course you can't binge watch seven and a half hours of Arrested development without snacks like frozen bananas. I figured it shouldn't be too hard, but wanted to do a little research before diving in. I found this recipe on Pinterest. I thought for sure something would go wrong because I wanted to make giant frozen bananas, not puny half bananas.

I cut a little bit off the bottom of the banana to give me a straight section for the popsicle stick. After sticking the popsicle stick into the bananas, I froze them for about 4 hours while I finished watching season 3 of Arrested Development.

Then I melted a 16 oz bag of semi sweet chocolate chips and I spooned the chocolate over the bananas and then sprinkled them with chopped peanuts.

These frozen bananas were so good I will definitely be making them again. Next time I will probably cut the bananas in half like the original recipe suggests to make it a little easier to dip and eat.

Have you watched season 4 of Arrested Development yet? Did you make any fun snacks?

  3. Those look pretty delicious, but are they hard to eat? I hate biting into popsicles, so maybe I'd cut the bananas into pieces before coating them. Plus, more chocolate that way! Seems like a win-win situation to me! :)

    1. They were a touch tricky, but the frozen banana was a little softer than a popsicle. I am definitely going to make bite size pieces next time.

    1. They really are easy and very good. I would suggest cutting the bananas in half, it would make dipping and eating even easier.

  5. What a brilliant idea... We've watched the first three of the new season (LOVING Kristin Wiig as "young Lucille!"), but now I'm thinking we need some frozen bananas for the rest of it!

    1. I even got supplies to try making cornballs, but I didn't end up getting around to it. This is the recipe I was going to use in case you want to have a Bluth family dinner. http://www.thefoodinmybeard.com/2013/04/bluth-family-cornballs.html
