Thanksgiving

Tonight we get a little deeper. This might get emotional. Watch out. 24.1 I am thankful for a loving family that still spends every Thanksgiving together. Every year that I have been alive, and for several before I was born, my parents have hosted Thanksgiving at their house, where ever they lived. Each member of our extended family has traveled from near and far to eat a meal and spend quality time together. I appreciate that about my family, and I hope that this does't end. Every year has it's difficulties and every year I swear I'm going on vacation the next year, but deep down, family gatherings like this are a big part of who I am. I would do anything for my family, and I know they would return that favor anytime I needed it. 24.2 I am thankful for my job. Even though I don't work many hours and I don't make much money, I am glad that I can contribute financially to my little family of two. As much as I wish I could do more, I am just thankful I am able to do what I do. I really like my job, I really like the people I work with and I don't really ever want to leave it, unless it's to raise some babies. 24.3 I am thankful for a home. I have had a roof over my head every single day of my life. I am so lucky that I have never had to go without shelter, electricity, running water, or even air conditioning, as long as you don't count the power outages following hurricanes. I live more comfortably than probably millions of people. My humble apartment is something I take for granted every single day... It's too small, to old, in a crappy location, but when I really stop bitching and think about it, it's 700 square feet of our own space, space we don't have to share, we aren't exposed to the elements or bugs or disease. We are very fortunate people and I hope that isn't something I ever forget. 24.4 I am thankful for my health and the health of my lovely husband. I am thankful that neither one of us needs serious medical attention, has a terminal illness or any serious injuries. I am glad I can walk up the stairs to my 2nd floor apartment and do all the things I need to do without the help of a wheel chair, nurse, medications, or any other kind of contraption. 24.5 I am thankful for my friends, old and new, near and far. Each person in my life is special, and has helped me through something, made lots of exceptional memories with me, and no matter how often we talk or see each other I love each of them. Without my friends, I would definitely go crazy. 24.6 I am thankful for this life that God has given me. I am thankful for his grace, mercy, and forgiveness. I am thankful that I don't need to worry, for he will take care of tomorrow, not that I remember that very often.. I'm working on it though. Today and every day, I am thankful. I have more than I will ever deserve.
