Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

Our First Fall in Virginia

Our First Fall in Virginia

It’s Fall y’all! Fall is one of my favorite seasons, followed closely by Winter. I love gettin cozy in a heated blanket, wearing sweaters, drinking warm beverages, and watching leaves or snow fall. This first fall in Virginia is bringing out the absolute most basic bitch in me and I am not sorry.

I am at a coffee shop in a cardigan or sweater almost every day, drinking hot lattes in real mugs, and then either before or after drinking coffee at the coffee shop, I drink coffee at home on the front porch so I can watch the leaves fall and the people pass by. I have made soup, added an extra quilt to our bed, pulled out my leggings and uggs. I am READY.

Over the weekend I cranked it up a notch on fall basicness and we took a family trip to a local corn maze. It was huge. They cut out multiple hot air ballon shapes, and a sun. There were 10 spots inside the maze where you could punch a little card and then turn it in for a drawing. Winners of the drawing will get tickets to come back next year. Fingers crossed!

The leaves are INSANE. Like how is this real life? I am going to try and post a weekly fall leaves photo on social media until the leaves all fall off, so check Facebook and Instagram for leaf updates.

The town of Abingdon is equally excited for Fall, and there are decorations everywhere! We first saw them when we got home from our quick visit to Orlando and it was the perfect welcome back surprise.

Wolf Hills, my daily coffee shop office, has really cute decorations too. I just love the celebratory feel of Fall and Winter.

I am ready for Halloween! I packed up our trick or treat bags this week, some with candy and trinkets, some with just trinkets for any kids with allergies. I love trick or treating and I really hope we have a nice turn out this year. I put up some lights on the porch, we have a few pumpkins, and hopefully we will be able to go to a pumpkin patch over the weekend for a few more.

I got super lucky and just happened to be getting a perfect McDonald’s coke the night the iconic Halloween happy meal buckets came out and I got this cutie green goblin. All of the McDonald’s in town are out of them now, but hopefully they’ll restock so I can get the other colors. Why do I want these? No idea. I’m bored, and why not?!

Are you a Fall lover? What are your favorite parts? Any suggestions for our first real Fall? Let us know in the comments.
