Friday Favorites - April 28, 2023

It’s been a few weeks since I shared a set of favorites, so let’s see what’s been making me smile this week.

Visiting the fish tank at Bass Pro Shops

I love watching the fishies and listening to the waterfall. If I could drag one of the sample tents over to the tank and make a private little waterfall viewing area, that would be ideal. I didn’t want to cause a scene though, so I just sat on the bench that was already there.

Cafeteria style trays

We were eating dinner one night talking about our wet foods touching breads and fried things, so I ordered a set of these cafeteria trays as a fun little surprise. I thought it would be even more fun to pay homage to school lunches by adding canned peaches to our baked ziti, salad, and garlic bread.

An empty town dog park

Abingdon has a dog park and so far we have never seen anyone there, so we finally took Lucy to run around. Just in case you are a newer reader, Lucy was attacked at a dog park 10ish years ago and has been fear aggressive since then, so we try to avoid other dogs as much as possible. It took us a few months to get her and Jasper acquainted before my parents moved up here and we just can’t commit months to every random dog in town. We were there for about half an hour and she sniffed all around, rolled in the grass, and generally was just adorable. It made me so happy to be able to let her run free for a bit. I’ll definitely take her back. It’s a really nice park.

A fun day in the big city (Kingsport, TN) with my brother

We had Huey Magoo’s, 7 Brew coffee, Seaver’s Donuts (hot and fresh), and went to the Asian market for some goodies! I miss the variety of the Orlando food scene, so it was nice to be able to get some fun groceries. We even saw a lake without alligators, how is that even possible?

What are some of your favorite things this week? Let us know in the comments.
