Dreaming About Our Next Yard

After many months of looking at houses and not finding anything that fits our needs and tastes, we have decided we will probably rent next, but that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming about the next time we own a house. I am particularly excited to have a pollinator friendly yard with a microclover lawn, flowers to cut, and of course veggies.

I first saw Angelina & Skyler’s (@RenovatingOurHome) microclover yard on TikTok, and I fell in love hard. I love the low fuss maintenance, the fluffiness, the little flowers, and especially the benefit to bees.

In our next yard I want to embrace being *extra*. I’m going full secret garden, and not looking back. And, what is a secret garden without a magical doorway?

We will need a fence for Lucy, so might as well build cute fence planters and benches to enjoy the secret garden, probably while drinking an iced tea or lemonade.

Next, a raised vegetable garden with a canopy of peas or something else that grows on a vine.

Magical pathways are also a must. You can’t just walk around a secret garden on regular pathways or the even less magical option, no pathways.

It would be dreamy to have a cutting flower bed, so I can grow my own fresh flowers to bring inside or gift to my friends.

And finally, I have always dreamt about growing hydrangeas in my yard. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and to have them right outside my door would be magnificent.
