Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

Little Rock, AR 2025

Little Rock, AR 2025

Our quest to visit all of the Presidential Libraries brought us to Little Rock, AR. We visited museums, ate some decent food, and saw fall leaves!

The first morning in Little Rock, Christopher got us delicious coffee and a bagel from Fidel & Co. for brunch while we worked and after work we had dinner at Dizzy’s Gypsy Bistro. I was a terrible blogger and took zero pictures of the food this day, but it was good, I promise. Dizzy’s gave me big theater kid vibes with lots of bright colors and mismatched chairs. We each started with a salad, and I loved that they diced all of the salad toppings so it was like a little tomato/onion/cucumber salsa on top, and for our mains, Christopher had a filet with roasted veggies and potatoes, and I had a chicken, rice, and mushroom casserole type situation. Yum!

After dinner, we headed over to the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art. We love art museums, and this was a really nice one. The building is incredible.

One of my favorite types of art is mixed-media, and I loved this installation, Under a Restless Sky, by Nathalie Miebach.

After we finished at the museum, we got a sweet treat from Loblolly Ceamery. I had the pepermint ice cream, and dang she was creamy and good.

On Saturday, we started the day at The Root Cafe for breakfast. They serve 100% local meat, bread, and eggs, and as many other local products as possible. Christopher had the breakfast banh mi and I had eggs with toast, because I’m basic. We sat on the porch, but they also had a little garden area you could sit in, as well as indoor seating.

Our first museum of the day was the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, where we learned about the Little Rock Nine, nine black students who enrolled at Central High School after the Brown v. Board of Education ruling. It’s a wild story, give it a read.

Our second museum of the day was the William J. Clinton Library and Museum. We got lucky because they had closed during the government shutdown, and this was their first day back open. We would have been extra sad if we went all the way to Little Rock to visit and it ended up being closed.

We got to see a replica of Bill Clinton’s Oval Office, read about all of his achievements, see gifts from other world leaders, and even see his and Hillary’s official portraits. Plus, there was a Chihuly glass sculpture, so I think that makes this my favorite Presidential Library yet.

We had a late lunch/early dinner at All Aboard Restaurant & Grill, where your food is brought out by a model train to your table. The food was fine, and the train part was cool, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again.

On our last day in Little Rock, we started with breakfast at Community Bakery. Christopher had a cinnamon sugar cake donut and the quiche of the day, and I had the frittata, yum.

After breakfast, we took a self-guided tour of the Arkansas State Capitol Building, which is stunning.

I especially loved the old mail shoot and mailbox.

For lunch, we had fancy grilled cheese sandwiches at BCW. This was my favorite meal of the trip. I had the french onion grilled cheese, and Christopher had the hot honey brie. They were SO GOOD. And of course we had to get a little glass of wine/bubbles.

After lunch, we visited the ESSE Purse Museum and read about the history of the purse. It was a really cool little place.

After purses, we headed over to the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden to walk around before heading to the airport for our flight home. It was so pretty out, and the sculpture garden was along the side of the river.

I know Little Rock, AR isn’t on a lot of people’s bucket lists, but we had a fun weekend there. Have you ever been to Little Rock? What was your favorite part? Let us know in the comments.
