A Great Day in Sarasota
After a super busy October, Christopher and I headed to Sarasota for the weekend to relax a little.
We started by grabbing pie from Yoder’s. We got a slice each of pumpkin cream, chocolate cream, banana cream, and peanut butter cream. We ate the pumpkin right away and saved the rest for later.
Next, we spent a couple of hours looking at all the pretty plants at Selby Gardens. It was our first time visiting, and holy orchids! Orchids are one of my favorite flowers, so I was in heaven in the orchid greenhouse.
We grabbed deli sandwiches at Wolfie’s before heading to the beach.
It was kind of cold for the beach, but we made do with towel blankets and sweatshirts. We ate the chocolate cream pie while waiting for the sun to set. Listening to the waves and birds, with our feet in the sand was a perfect escape from regular life.
We stayed at The Sarasota Modern, which was beautiful, and I took one picture. I would absolutely stay here again. The shower had a rainshower head and teak bench, like a spa, and our balcony had three stacking sliding glass doors that opened extra wide to let in all the cool fall air. The hotel also had a heated pool, cold plunge pool, and a giant hot tub. We spent a couple hours going back and forth between the three before hitting up that fancy shower and watching the semi-finals of the Great British Baking Show.
This was one of the most relaxing days we’ve had in a long time. I can’t wait to do it again.
