Summer Bucket List Recap

Summer Bucket List Recap

This summer flew by. Before we get too deep into fall content, I figured I’d give a little recap of our summer bucket list.

Go to a new beach

We went to a couple of new beaches this summer. First up, Melbourne Beach. It was so pretty and had plenty of parking despite being peak beach season. Plus we got excellent coffee at Apocalypse Coffee Roasters in town.

The second new beach we visited was Longboat Key. We tried parking at Lido Key Beach for over an hour before giving up and driving down Longboat Key looking for little pull-off spaces, and finally found one. It was such a nice residential beach. There were only about six parking spots, so very chill.

See fireworks

We watched the Fourth of July fireworks from the Oviedo Mall.

Make S’mores

We waited until S’mores day to break out the S’mores supplies, only to realize they were probably leftovers from last year. So not the freshest treat, but it still did the trick.

Go on a weekend trip

We used my summer Fridays off as an excuse to go on a few weekend trips this year.

First, we went to Atlanta. We visited the State Capitol, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, the Museum of Trap Music, Atlanta Botanical Garden, and the Museum of Puppetry Arts.

Our second weekend trip was to Clearwater to celebrate Bianca’s 40th birthday! We snuck in a little beach time with the birthday girl the day after her party and then we went to see some Chihuly glass in St. Pete.

Our third weekend away was to Albany, NY. We toured the state capitol and visited the New York State Museum, Martin Van Buren’s House, Vanderbilt Mansion, Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Presidential Library, and the Schuyler Mansion, where THE Alexander Hamilton married Eliza.

Our fourth and final weekend away was a quick trip to Sebring, FL, to see the places from Hometown Takeover. It could have been a day trip, but oh well.

On our way home from Sebring, we stopped at Bok Tower Gardens. Highly recommend it if you are ever in the area.

Go to a museum

As you’ve just read, we visited quite a few museums this summer.

Try a new coffee shop

In June, we tried Those Guys Cafe for the first time, and we’ve been obsessed ever since. My favorite summer flavor was the raspberry cream latte, and now their blackberry pie latte on the fall menu is just as delicious.

Celebrate a fun holiday each month

We have been getting pretty good at celebrating fun holidays. In June, we celebrated Donut Day, Best Friends Day, Iced Tea Day, Corn on the Cob Day, and Canoli Day. In July, we celebrated Eat Beans Day, the 250th Birthday of the United States of America, National Fried Chicken Day, National Raspberry Day, National Sugar Cookie Day, World Kebab Day, French Fries Day, Gummi Worm Day, National Ice Cream Day, Tequila Day, Milk Chocolate Day, Chicken Wing Day, National Dole Whip Day, National Drive-Thru Day, Chili Dog Day, and International Day of Friendship. In August, we celebrated Stationery Store Day, Friendship Day, Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, S’mores Day, Relaxation Day, Fajita Day, and Beach Day.

I’d say we crushed this summer bucket list. I hope you had a fun summer too.
