Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Part 2

Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Part 2

We finally made it to Epcot for a second trip to Food and Wine Festival.

We started our evening with a flight on Soarin’, then headed to Flavors From Fire, which is hosted by ESPN’s College Game Day.

There was a real chef out back grilling the meats, it smelled SO good. Christopher got the burger and Swine Brine drink. The Swine Brine was a mixture of juice, Dijon mustard, and bourbon.

The Steakhouse Blended Burger: Blended Beef and Mushroom Slider with Brie Cheese Fondue, Arugula, and a Truffle and Blue Cheese Potato Chip on a Brioche Bun – $5.25

Swine Brine featuring Jim Beam Bourbon – $9.50

In the “backyard” of this booth area, they had signs like people make when College Game Day comes to a campus. The only problem with this display was that the American Athletic Conference was not represented, sooo that’s a big problem that needs to be fixed for next year. So if you know someone at College Game Day, make that happen, preferably with black and gold on the sign, because GO KNIGHTS!

Next up, The Cheese Studio. We got one of each of the snacks, and then I got the sparkling blueberry wine.

This is always one of our favorite booths, because cheese is life! I am not usually a fan of cheese souffle, but this one is really good and I even liked the fig marmalade, which normally I would make a face about, but daannng, yum!

Braised Beef “Stroganoff” with Tiny Egg Noodles, Wild Mushrooms and Boursin® Garlic and Fine Herbs Cheese Sauce – $5.50

Black Pepper Boursin® Soufflé with Fig Marmalade – $5.00

Maple Bourbon Cheesecake with Maple Bourbon Cream, Caramel and Pecan Crunch – $4.50

Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Blueberry Wine, St. Petersburg, FL – $10.00

Next up, Wine and Dine Studio. Christopher got a red wine and the scallops, because he loves them and I do not.

Seared Scallops, Truffled Celery Root Purée, Brussels Sprouts and Wild Mushrooms – $6.25

Spellbound Petite Sirah, California – $6.00

Up next, Appleseed Orchard. This is a new booth this year and was housed in the theater that O’, Canada was in before they started remaking the Canada movie.

We got the Caramel Apple popcorn, frozen apple pie, and an MIA Apple Beer. The popcorn was delicious, not quite the Caramel Popcorn we love so much from Karamelle Kuche in the Germany Pavilion, but good. The frozen apple pie was kind of weird, but Christopher ate it, and the beer was good, we like MIA.

Caramel-Apple Popcorn – $10.00

Frozen Apple Pie (non-alcoholic) - $4.00

M.I.A. Beer Company Apple Trappe Belgian-Style Tripel Ale, Doral, FL – $4.50

We also got our favorites from Canada and France, but it was too dark to take pictures, and it’s the same stuff they have every year.

We ended the night by watching the new firework show from France. It was really cool to see it live and it was the perfect end to a fun day at Food and Wine.
