Natalie & Christopher in Germany

Hey there!

We are Natalie and Christopher. We blog about life in the suburbs of Orlando, FL with no kids and one dog. Thanks for checking in.

A Lucy Pup-date

A Lucy Pup-date

I’ve shared a lot about how I’m doing with the move, what we’ve explored, and our other trips, so I figured a Lucy update was long overdue.

Lucy is adjusting to all leash walks instead of yard time, but I can’t wait for her to have a yard again. She likes to roll around in the grass and sun bathe and without a fenced yard she isn’t able to do that as much. I am training her to be a porch dog, just in case we buy a house with a porch.

Lucy and Jasper will be staying with one of my brothers while we are on our cruise, so she will get to run around in his fenced yard and she will love it. We took her over for a house/yard tour before we go out of town so she knows what to expect and she was so happy running free in his yard. I have to remember to take her over every once in a while so she can get some zoomies in.

Lucy and Jasper have been getting along very well, except for one incident when I tried to take them both in the same car to get a pup cup at Dairy Queen. Lucy was not at all interested in sharing her minivan with another dog. She did not get a pup cup that night. Other than that they hang around each other and some days ignore each other, Yano dog stuff.

Lucy has also been having fun exploring and getting stuck behind furniture. One night she went under our bed to see if we had dropped any secret crumbs and ended up stuck and tried to crawl out between the mattress and the headboard. It was pretty funny.

Lucy also likes to follow us everywhere, because again, secret snacks and crumbs. One day she wouldn’t get out of the way so I could close the under the stairs powder room door so I just let her in. It was a tight fit.

Occasionally we do give Lucy some fun snacks (ok like a billion times a day). She really loves the Chewnola Busy Bones and I love watching her walk around with it hanging out of her lips like a dog cigar.

In addition to a few pup cups in drive thrus, Lucy’s also been to Wolf Hills coffee and she made a nice new friend with a man that gave her a pup cup. I think they are bonded for life now.

Finally, just to ruin her life, we gave Lucy her first bath in Virginia. She was no pleased, and treats barely helped her recover from the torture. Hopefully one day she will love us again.

I love this dog so much, and I hope she knows it. I’m going to miss her while we’re on vacation, but I know she will have fun with Jasper and my brother.
