New England 2026
Earlier this month, we took a trip to New England. We visited Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Our first stop after arriving was obviously a lobster roll for Christopher and a basket of fried shrimp for me.
After our first seafood stop of the trip, we headed North to the L.L. Bean Flagship Store. I got a new Boat and Tote with my monogram, but I had it shipped home, and it hasn’t arrived yet, so no pic. It has blue handles and a red monogram.
We also happened to make it for the annual Pumpkin Festival at L.L. Bean, holy pumpkins, Batman. It was incredible.
In Maine, we went on a whale watching boat tour but didn’t see any whales. We did see porpoises and dolphins, and lots of pretty views, but after not seeing any whales in Alaska a couple of years ago and not seeing them in Maine, I’m starting to wonder if they are fake. (kidding)
After we were done playing in Portland/Freeport, ME, we drove through the best fall leaves into Vermont.
We stayed in Waterbury, VT, right next to Ben & Jerry’s, yum. We sampled cheese at Cabot, bought some fancy chocolates at Lake Champlain, had apple cider and donuts at a cidery, tried some beers from Von Trapp Family Brewery, visited the Capitol in Montpelier, and went up the gondola in Stowe.
Then we headed to the King Arthur Baking Company store. Who knew they had so many products?! I was amazed. We got there later in the day, so they were out of treats at the cafe, sad, but we did buy a box of lemon bar mix and a shot glass measuring cup.
New Hampshire was our next stop. Concord was our first stop to see the Capitol Building and meet up with an old friend for dinner.
Then on to Portsmouth, for shopping, eating, another cidery, and relaxing by the water.
On our last full day, we took the train down to Salem, MA, because how can you be so close in October and not go check out all the witchy fun?
We went on a Trolley Tour around the city and went to the Peabody Essex Museum also, so it wasn’t all just witches and such.
It was such a fun trip to New England, we can’t wait to go back again.
